Jiangsu Luye got Chinese temporary approval for propyzamide

ChinaRecently Chinese agrochemical company Jiangsu Luye Agrochemicals received temporary registration for active ingredient of herbicide propyzamide from the Chinese Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals of Ministry of Agriculture (ICAMA).
Jiangsu Luye is the leading manufacturer of propyzamide in China, the production capacity is around 600Mt/year.
Belong to amide herbicide, propyzamide provides selective pre and post-emergence control of grassweeds as well as broadleaf weeds. It acts on the roots of the target plants, and is translocated to other parts of the plant where it prevents cell division by mitosis.
Introduced by Dow in 1980, the product contributed to Dow’s sales of around $55 million in year 2010. The Irish generic agrochemical company, AgriGuard has received registration for propyzamide in the UK in 2009.
