CropLife America (CLA) appointed Sarah McLallen as CropLife Foundation's (CLF) Director, Stewardship Initiatives and Executive Director effective June 1, 2012. Sarah previously held the position of CLA's Senior Director, Human Health Policy in the Science & Regulatory Department under the direction of Dr. Barb Glenn. Through the development of strategic sustainability programs and communication, Sarah's new role will reinvigorate the Foundation's stewardship activities, directly support the stewardship needs of CLA members, and help shape the future of CLF.

Prior to joining CLA in December 2011, Sarah worked at the American Chemistry Council (ACC) as the Senior Director of the Chlorine Chemistry (C2) division. In this role, she provided issue management for the chlorine industry and represented major North American chlorine producers, users, and suppliers. She also led the strategic review of the Chlorine Chemistry Research Foundation for Health and Environmental Effects and the Chlorine Chemistry Foundation. Before joining ACC in 1999, Sarah conducted research at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and worked for the Chemical Manufacturers Association and the Hydrogen Fluoride Industry Practices Institute.

"Sarah's experience with ACC and EPA coupled with her previous role as CLA's Director of Human Health Policy will significantly contribute to the success of CLF's stewardship program and ultimately transform CropLife Foundation," said Jay Vroom, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CLF, and President and CEO of CLA. "We are excited to engage further in agricultural stewardship and sustainability initiatives, and we look forward to where she will take our Foundation in the future."

Sarah graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill with a Master of Science in Public Health and earned a B.S. from Michigan Technological University. She has begun collaborating with CLA staff on stewardship plans and in the coming months her role will focus primarily on leading the Foundation's agricultural stewardship efforts.
