The Chemical Producers & Distributors Association (CPDA) announced it has changed its name to the Council of Producers & Distributors of Agrotechnology.
CPDA was founded 25 years ago and has long been the recognized voice of the generic pesticide industry. In response to innovation in agricultural production technologies and maturation of the pesticide marketplace, CPDA is refocusing its efforts to better serve the advocacy interests of the fast-growing adjuvant and inert ingredient manufacturer/supplier sector of the industry. These members of CPDA manufacture and supply high quality, environmentally sound products designed to enhance the delivery and efficacy of pesticide applications. CPDA members provide approximately 80% of the inert ingredients used in crop protection products throughout the U.S.
CPDA is also well equipped to support the development of other new pesticide and non-pesticide agrotechnologies that are having a transformative effect on the grower community. At the same time, CPDA remains committed to providing lead advocacy support on issues specific to manufacturers, formulators, and distributors of generic pesticide products when policy matters arise.
"The products that make up agrotechnology, including adjuvants, inert ingredients, pesticides, and biorationals, will play a critical role in meeting the demands of agriculture, horticulture, viticulture and aquaculture to increase plant production and improve animal and public health," said Dr. Susan Ferenc, President. "Our goal is to ensure our members' success by championing public policy that utilizes the best available science while ensuring a competitive U.S. marketplace."
CPDA promotes the interests of its member companies before the U.S. Congress, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and other government agencies that regulate these agricultural technology products.
