NovaSource announces that Lorox (linuron) agricultural herbicide has just been accepted for use on edamame (immature soybeans) by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
The new supplemental label allows Lorox to be applied to edamame pre-emergence, in all tillage types. One application of up to 2 lbs. of Lorox per acre is allowed per season. The product can be tank mixed with other herbicides approved for this crop to control a broad spectrum of weeds.
"We're very please at the EPA's prompt review and acceptance of this supplemental label for Lorox," said Mike DeRiso, Director of Marketing and Business Development for NovaSource. "Now edamame growers have an additional tool to use to control key weeds and manage weed resistance."
Edamame is a name applied to several specialty varieties of edible green vegetable soybeans. In the United States, the primary production areas of edamame are the West Coast and Upper Midwest.
Lorox is a dry flowable (DF) formulation that provides effective control of more than 20 broadleaf weeds and grasses. It is a Group 7 herbicide that contains the active ingredient linuron.
