Yates Super Shield Advanced Approved in New Zealand

The Environmental Protection Authority has approved an application to import or manufacture Yates Super Shield Advanced in New Zealand.

The application was made by Dulux Group (New Zealand) Pty Ltd. Yates Super Shield Advanced is an insecticide/fungicide mixture in the form of a liquid suspension, containing the active ingredients tau-fluvalinate, myclobutanil and imidacloprid.

The substance is diluted with water and used to control insects and diseases on roses and other ornamental shrubs, trees and plants. It is intended for domestic home garden use only.

Approval was granted by the EPA’s Hazardous Substances and New Organisms (HSNO) decision-making Committee, following a hearing at which submissions for and against the application was heard.

Yates Super Shield Advanced has been approved with controls placed on its use that include preventing the substance from being applied onto or into water and only applying it to ornamental plants.
