FMC receives US patent for Capture LFR insecticide

FMC Corporation has announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has issued a U.S. Patent to FMC entitled "Insecticidal Compositions Suitable for Use in Preparation of Insecticidal Liquid Fertilizers" for its Capture® LFR® insecticide (active ingredient: bifenthrin) formulation. Capture LFR insecticide is formulated to directly mix with liquid fertilizers and water, providing optimum compatibility.

"There has been a need in the marketplace for a liquid fertilizer compatible product," said FMC Principal Scientist Tim Martin. "Growers want to apply an insecticide early in the season with no coagulation, flocculation, or separation issues. Capture LFR is a unique formulation that allows for this convenient ease of application in one pass."

As an ideal tank-mix partner for liquid pop-up fertilizers, Capture LFR (which stands for Liquid Fertilizer Ready) stays mixed to provide even distribution through various spray systems. The insecticide can be applied over the seed, in furrow, providing a complete zone of protection that controls cutworms, wireworms, grubs and other seed and seedling pests. Capture LFR is also a key tool in managing growing resistance concerns.
