Chinese leading agrochemical companies, Zhejiang Wynca, Nantong Jiangshan, Yangnong Chemical said they would see little impact from Australia's anti-dumpting investigation into formulated glyphosate from China.
Zhejiang Wynca is the biggest manufacture of glyphosate in Asia. "The exporting amount of our glyphosate product to Austrailia was around US dollar 4 million in the entire 2011, a slight part of the total volume. The probe of antidumping wont affect too much our glyphosate business." Said Wynca. Nantong Jiangshan, Yangnong Chemical, on the other hand, said their formulated products were not sold directly to Australia at the moment.
Chemical company NuFarm, which sells significant quantities of the chemical in Australia, made the complaint, the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service (CBP) has initiated the investigation. (AgroNews 2012-2-8)
