Arysta LifeScience announces a successful launch of KASUMIN® 2SL (kasugamycin), a product of Hokko Chemical Indstry Co., Ltd., Japan, at the end of this season’s rice crop in Pakistan. KASUMIN shows strong curative and preventive effect at low dosage against both fungal and bacterial diseases in crops such as rice, tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, cabbage, onions and beans.
The product is initially being targeted for rice. Rice is one of the most inportant crops in Pakistan, grown on large areas and contributing significantly to be the foreign exchange earnings for the country. Blast and bacterial leaf blight are the two serious diseases of rice crop in Pakistan that result in yield and quality losses every year.

Arysta LifeScience Pakistan is aiming to reach 20 percent market share of the fungicide market of rice within the next three years. The company also plans to expand the use of KASUMIN in other potential rotational crops such as vegetables, potatoes and citrus to protect against bacterial diseases.
Arysta LifeScience has widely been marketing Hokko’s Kasugamycin in South Asia countries including Vietnam, Thailand and Myanmar. Pakistan is one of the emerging markets that is expected to help roll out the potential and contribute to the business growth of the companies.
