Growers in Western Canada now have a clear choice to enhance their Clearfield canola system. BASF has received regulatory approval for the use of Ares herbicide (active ingredients: imazapyr + imazamox) on Clearfield canola for the 2012 growing season.

"For Clearfield canola growers with broadleaf and grassy weed challenges, Ares is your solution," says Joel Johnson, BASF Brand Manager for Western Herbicides at BASF Canada. "To put it simply: Ares makes Clearfield even better."

Ares is a broad-spectrum herbicide with flushing weed control combined with an enhanced window of application. It provides protection against wild buckwheat, lamb's-quarters, cleavers and wild oats. The easy-to-use, liquid formulation brings a new active ingredient for Western Canada.

"BASF is dedicated to bringing innovative solutions to the Canadian canola market," says Johnson. "Ares raises the bar and sets the new standard in weed control performance."

One of the key benefits of the Clearfield system is growers can choose the herbicide that best matches their weed control needs and sustainability strategies. Ares is the clear choice because of its superior efficacy and wider window of application on 2-7 leaf weeds.
