Matt Caswell joined Syngenta as director of federal government relations

Matt Caswell has joined Syngenta as a director of federal government relations, based in Washington, D.C. In his role, Caswell will manage and implement strategic federal government relations, including outreach and advocacy.

Prior to joining Syngenta, Caswell served as regulatory affairs director of the North American biofuels business for British Petroleum (BP). There he was responsible for managing all policy and regulatory affairs issues related to advanced biofuels. Caswell also served as public affairs director for the Iowa Soybean Association where he led agricultural policy and public affairs affecting Iowa’s soybean industry.

"Matt’s leadership and experience in agriculture and energy will enhance our government relations programs,” said Jessica Adelman, head, Syngenta Corporate Affairs in North America. “Matt is passionate about agricultural issues, and we are excited to have him join our team.”

An Iowa native, Caswell holds a law degree from Drake University and a bachelor’s degree in political science and history from Simpson College.
