AgroPages-EU confirms extension for metalaxyl review:-Agricultural news

The European Commission has confirmed that the review process for the fungicide, metalaxyl, has been extended to June 30th 2010, and that EU member states may approve products containing the active ingredient. Confirmation follows the recent clearance of the Commission's proposals by the EU regulatory committee. The metalaxyl review had to be restarted after Spanish agrochemical company Industrias Quimicas del Valles (Barcelona) won a court case earlier this year to overturn a Commission decision in 2003 not to re-register the ai.
