Brazilian delegation and Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) agreed to enhance cooperation in the field of agriculture research.
Six-member Brazilian delegation called on the PARC Chairman Dr Iftikhar Ahmad at the PARC where he briefed the delegation about the various research activities being carried out by PARC and in the provinces in collaboration with provincial research institutions.
The team consists of Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC) Chairman Bruno de Amorim Maciel, project analyst Gabriel Alves Maciel, Genetic Enhancement extension Minucio Monteiro Filho.
In this connection, Economic Affairs Division and Ministry of Foreign Affairs are preparing the draft pact, which would be completed within a month.
Bruno de Amorim Maciel, Project Analyst Brazilian Co-operation Agency (ABC) said that there was a great potential for co-operation between Pakistan and Brazil in the field of agricultural research hybrid seed production, Fruit /vegetable production, bio fuel, resource conservation and pests control technologies.
While briefing the delegation Dr Ahmad said that PARC is the apex agricultural research organization at national level.
Its main objective is to strengthen Pakistan’s agricultural research system, comprising the federal and provincial components.
