AgroPages-Yifan Bio's subsidiary plans to invest in clethodim intermediate project-Agricultural news

Recently, Yifan Biotechnology Group Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Yifan Bio") announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Ningxia Yuansheng Biotechnology Co., Ltd., is planning to invest 180 million yuan in a new project to expand the production of key raw materials for the synthesis of clethodim, a widely used herbicide. The project includes the construction of a new production line for (E)-O-(3-Chloro-2-propenyl)hydroxylamine and the supporting production of 1,3-dichloropropene.

According to the environmental impact assessment report, with the development of the overall industrial layout of Ningxia Yifan Biotechnology and the increasing market demand, the need for clethodim and its raw materials has also been rising. Therefore, Ningxia Yuansheng Biotechnology has decided to expand its production capacity by adding a (E)-O-(3-Chloro-2-propenyl)hydroxylamine production line and building a 1,3-dichloropropene production line to ensure the supply of raw materials and reduce procurement costs.

The project is located in the Zhengyi Block of Shizuishan Economic and Technological Development Zone. Upon completion, the total annual production capacity of (E)-O-(3-Chloro-2-propenyl)hydroxylamine in the factory will increase to 10,000 tons, and the new 1,3-dichloropropene production capacity will be 12,000 tons per year.

1,3-Dichloropropene and (E)-O-(3-Chloro-2-propenyl)hydroxylamine are key raw materials for the synthesis of clethodim.
