Brazilian company Satis unveiled studies focused on fungicide mobility for greater efficiency in soybean fields during the Show Safra 2025 fair, held in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso, with coverage by AgroPages.

According to the company, which specializes in nutribiosology and adjuvants, the aim is to provide solutions for the so-called "umbrella effect," a situation where spraying fails to reach the lower parts of the plant.

By achieving balanced mobility without causing phytotoxicity and depositing some of the active ingredients in the middle and lower thirds of the plants, better control of diseases in the lower parts can be achieved, which were previously unprotected due to the umbrella effect. This enables producers to enhance the epidemiology and health of the lower parts of the plants, ultimately leading to improved productivity rates at the end of the cycle.

The studies confirmed the effectiveness of Fulland, a systemic copper chemical complex developed by Satis and one of its main products. Designed to stimulate the production of plant self-defense substances, the product also enhances the mobility of fungicides. This action was confirmed in a doctoral thesis by students from the Agronomy postgraduate program at the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU), which included a series of field-applied analyses.

The tests were conducted at Satis's Experimental Field in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. Subsequently, the plants were sent for high-performance liquid chromatography analysis to NUPAM (Advanced Research Center in Weed Science) at São Paulo State University (Unesp). The methodology detected and quantified the mobility of some fungicide active ingredients from sprayed parts to protected parts of the plants, simulating an umbrella effect.

It was found that without Fulland in the mixture, fungicide mobility was very low in the lower parts. However, with the addition of the product, the concentration was 6.6 times higher, proving that Satis's solution can enhance not only protection but also production, favoring mobility and absorption. According to the study, this effect also resulted in productivity increases in management practices ranging from 3 to 24%.
