TECNOMYL, a Paraguayan company, officially inaugurated its new factory, TECNOMYL Biotech, in a ceremony attended by the country's president, Santiago Peña, and prominent agricultural sector representatives.
According to the manufacturer, the project marks "a before-and-after in biological input production in Paraguay," aiming to be at the "forefront of agricultural biotechnology in Latin America."
According to the Paraguayan biological inputs company, TECNOMYL Biotech constitutes the country's "largest and most modern factory" for biopesticide and biofertilizer production. TECNOMYL's goal is to provide local agricultural producers with cutting-edge solutions promoting more sustainable and environmentally friendly agriculture, enabling Paraguay to transition from being an importer of these technologies to becoming a developer and exporter.
TECNOMYL Biotech's infrastructure is modern and highly automated. It features a research and development (R&D) laboratory and a production area equipped with state-of-the-art bioreactors, ensuring constant real-time quality controls. In its first phase, the plant will operate with a production capacity of 1,000,000 KgL/year, with expansion projections to reach up to 5,000,000 KgL/year, serving an area four times larger than Paraguay's agricultural area.
The TECNOMYL Biotech plant has 2,000 m² of production area, and its structure was designed for future expansions that will allow increasing biological production at an "exponential level." Thanks to significant investment in advanced bioreactors and refrigerated storage chains, products maintain their efficacy and stability until final distribution.
Furthermore, the Paraguayan company said the plant follows "strict quality controls ensuring maximum product concentration and durability." According to them, this characteristic is fundamental to facing the challenging conditions affecting modern agriculture.
During the ceremony, José Marcos Sarabia, CEO of Grupo Sarabia, expressed the company's purpose and commitment to Paraguay's agricultural sector: "From the very beginning, TECNOMYL set out to transform the agricultural sector in Paraguay. For more than three decades, we have walked side by side with farmers, innovating and developing high-quality solutions to make our fields increasingly productive and sustainable."
With TECNOMYL Biotech, the executive stated, they have taken a "decisive step, inaugurating the country's largest and most modern biological input factory, positioning Paraguay as a reference in bioinputs at the South American level."
The product line is based on beneficial microorganisms that will give rise to bionematicides, bioinsecticides, bioacaricides, biofungicides, biofertilizers, and biostimulants that will work in synergy with traditional chemical pesticides to address both biotic (pests and diseases) and abiotic (climatic adversities and limitations) challenges.
José Marcos Sarabia highlighted the factory's focus on sustainability and its contribution to reducing environmental impact and extending the lifespan of natural resources, prolonging the productive capacity of Paraguayan fields.
"Tecnomyl Biotech represents the promise of agriculture committed to the future. These naturally sourced biological inputs complement chemical products and work in harmony with the agricultural environment, protecting our crops with technology developed on Paraguayan soil to provide food security for future generations," he stated.
Tecnomyl is one of the leading companies in developing agricultural solutions in Paraguay, with a 30-year history in the country and a presence in international markets. "Committed to innovation and sustainability, Tecnomyl offers a complete portfolio of products that protect crops while preserving the environment, thus supporting producers in facing today's and future agricultural challenges," they said in conclusion.
