ATANOR, a member of the Albaugh Group, has introduced a tool in Argentina to prevent herbicide incompatibility problems.

As part of its ATANOR PRO program, the company launched the "ATANOR Mix Compatibility" solution.

According to ATANOR, this tool is integrated into the WhatsApp Business messaging platform. ATANOR Mix Compatibility, they explained, allows users "to proactively know the compatibility degree of ATANOR brand products mixed in the spray tank."

The Argentine company highlighted that this tool makes it possible to "anticipate measures to be taken in each case, ensuring successful application" of agrochemicals. "Weed control has become difficult in recent years because weed biotypes resistant to different herbicides have been selected, and currently, two or more products must be included in the same spray to control all weeds present in the field," they reminded.

ATANOR warned that incompatibility problems may arise due to each product's different physical or chemical characteristics. This incompatibility manifests through "broken" mixtures, or those without effect, clogged spray nozzles, poorly applied products, etc.

They pointed out that these inconveniences have significant economic, logistical, and environmental impacts due to the need to dispose of broken mixtures, clean equipment, and purchase new products. Additionally, there is a high "opportunity cost" when new spraying or planting dates need to be scheduled with contractors.

According to ATANOR, this research line began with an internal analysis validated with local references in weed control for soybeans, corn, sunflower, and wheat. The result produced a library of active ingredient combinations aimed at achieving effective control focusing on resistant species in different regions of Argentina.
