Brazilian company Korin Agriculture and Environment announced to AgroPages an "evolution" of its traditional Bokashi organic fertilizer. According to the manufacturer, the product underwent "improvement and innovation processes, with the new version requiring no preparation or waiting time while maintaining its efficiency".

Sergio Homma, director-superintendent of Korin Agriculture and Environment, explains that the previous formulation required the preparation of the biological fertilizer 72 hours before application. "In the new Bokashi version, this operation is no longer necessary. Application is immediate, and productivity results are excellent," he says.

The bioinput is an organic fertilizer composed of a blend of amino acids and metabolites obtained through controlled fermentation by functional microorganism groups. According to Korin, Bokashi acts to improve soil, promoting sustainability and balance in the production process.

"The technology modulates the native beneficial soil microbiota, ensuring efficiency of vital processes for its proper functioning, favoring balanced plant nutrition," states Rodrigo Longaresi, Agricultural Research Manager at Korin Agriculture and Environment.

Homma affirms that Korin "embraces innovation in agriculture", sowing the value of a "continuous search for solutions that improve people's quality of life and protect our planet's natural resources". According to him, the idea that the current intensive agricultural production model is the only one capable of supplying food demand is "losing force in the global society, reinforcing the need for a transition to more sustainable agriculture and reconstructing the agricultural scenario based on principles derived from Nature's Laws, seeking to establish a biological balance in ecosystems".

"Currently, over 550,000 hectares of cultivated areas witness the positive impact of our innovations, in addition to strategic partnerships that keep our products at the forefront of technology. We are present in all regions of Brazil, with emphasis mainly on the Central-West, South, Southeast, Matopiba, and São Francisco Valley" regions, they state.

The Brazilian company points to results in various crops such as soybeans, corn, cotton, rice, beans, grapes, onions, potatoes, sugarcane, among others. "Today we have over 1,500 producers and commercial partners and have already exported to South America, Asia, and Africa", they complete.

According to them, Korin's bioinputs "help farmers produce with quality. Healthy plants are less dependent on chemical products. The priority is to help farmers produce more and better, sustainably".

The Mokiti Okada Research Center (CPMO) is the research and development division of Korin Agriculture and Environment. This unit developed the advancement in the Bokashi formulation. "It's even more innovative. It's a reference as a biological input for agriculture," concludes the director-superintendent of Korin.
