As one of the world's leading agricultural producers, Brazil stands at the forefront of adopting innovative technologies to address the challenges of modern farming. The agricultural landscape in Brazil is now undergoing a profound transformation, driven by the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. AI is helping address major challenges such as climate fluctuations, pest pressure, and labor shortages in Brazilian farming. It improves crop monitoring and decision-making precision, optimizes resource use including irrigation and nutrition management, enhances pest and disease detection, and contributes to more sustainable and efficient agricultural practices.
Looking to the future, AI is expected to drive the integration of autonomous farming systems, combining AI with robotics for fully automated farms. There will likely be further refinement of precision agriculture techniques, enhanced predictive analytics and forecasting for proactive decision-making, optimization of agricultural supply chains from farm to table, and advancements in sustainability and carbon farming practices.
To gain insight into this revolution, AgroPages recently conducted in-depth interviews with executives from four leading companies at the forefront of AI implementation in Brazilian agriculture. We had the privilege of speaking with: Bruno Muller, Head of Digital Agriculture at Syngenta; Bruno Pavão, Chief Robotic Operations at Solinftec; Henrique Del Papa, COO & Co-Founder at Cromai; Johann Coelho, CEO & Founder of BemAgro.
