Syngenta launches INZAK^® ZEON insecticide for sucking pest control in Brazil

Syngenta announced to AgroPages the arrival of INZAK^® ZEON insecticide for the control of sucking pests, such as the brown stink bug (Euschistus heros) and whitefly (Bemisia tabaci). 

According to the manufacturer, it is an alternative that combines "innovative technology with proven efficacy" to protect soybean, corn, cotton, and bean crops.

Syngenta pointed out that INZAK^® ZEON has a modern formulation that combines the high-performance active ingredients acetamiprid and lambda-cyhalothrin. According to the company, the product acts systemically by contact and ingestion.

"The ZEON^® technology is a fundamental differentiator of the launch, encapsulating the active ingredients in microcapsules and ensuring a gradual and prolonged release. This approach provides an intense shock action and high residual effect, aligning with good practices aimed at environmental management and directly contributing to farmers' profitability," the multinational stated.

Luis Fernando, Syngenta's Insecticide Marketing Manager, affirmed that Syngenta's new technology represents "a significant advancement" in the integrated management of sucking pests. 

"INZAK^® ZEON is a sustainable solution to agribusiness challenges and maximizing productive yield. We remain committed to advancing research and development of innovations that meet immediate agricultural challenges, and meet immediate agricultural challenges, and promote responsible practices aligned with our sustainability priorities," he stated.

Sucking pests represent a major challenge for Brazilian farmers due to the high impacts they cause on the productivity of various crops. In soybeans, for example, the occurrence of Euschistus heros results in empty and deformed grains, making the crop less profitable, as this type of damage can cause a 30% loss in productivity.

The control of Bemisia tabaci can cost 3 to 4 bags per hectare. A pest that has become increasingly relevant in corn is the corn leafhopper (Dalbulus maidis). This pest is responsible for direct damage, including plant weakening and reduction in grain weight and quality.

Moreover, the attack of these insects also favors the appearance of deformations and inflorescences in the ears. The corn aphid (Rhopalosiphum maidis) is another particularly problematic species in succession cultivation systems, such as soybean and corn.

According to the executive, INZAK^® ZEON also acts rapidly and efficiently against other pests, such as coleopterans, corn leafhoppers, and aphids.
