Repont Agrochemical: Innovating high-end sulfonylurea herbicides for sustainable agriculture future

Jiangsu Repont Agrochemical Co., Ltd. (″Repont Agrochemical″) is a specialized manufacturer of sulfonylurea and other herbicides in China’s agrochemical industry.

Expanding international markets: Repont Agrochemical’s global registration strategy

Repont Agrochemical holds 168 pesticide product registrations from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, including 36 technical material registrations, with 16 pertaining to the company’s key sulfonylurea herbicides.

Repont Agrochemical’s presence in overseas markets is equally impressive, with more than 400 overseas independent and cooperative registrations across vital countries and regions in South America, North America, the European Union, and Southeast Asia. These registrations not only facilitate access to international markets but also provide robust support for the company’s internationalization strategy. Through these registrations, Repont Agrochemical can effectively engage in global competition, supplying high-quality products that comply with local regulatory requirements to customers across different regions. As the company continues to expand in both domestic and international markets, these registrations will serve as vital assets for its sustainable growth.

In 2024, Repont Agrochemical reached a significant milestone in its internationalization strategy, obtaining equivalent registration approval for Tribenuron-methyl TC and Thifensulfuron-methyl TC in the European Union (Table 1). This marks a crucial step in its plan for global market expansion, with expectations that by 2025, at least five technical material products will obtain equivalent registrations in the European Union. 

Additionally, eight products are currently being registered in countries such as Brazil, the United States, Canada, and Australia. This will lay a solid foundation for the company to further strengthen and expand its presence in the international market.

Two production sites guarantee the product supply

In 2010, Repont established Jiangsu Agrochemical Co., Ltd. in the Yangkou Chemical Industrial Park in Rudong, Jiangsu. The Rudong site spans 200 mu with a built-up area of 56,000 square meters. It serves as an important production site for Repont’s sulfonylurea series products. The main products of the Rudong site are outlined in the Table 2:

Lanzhou site: Gansu Kombass Biotechnology Co., Ltd

Gansu Kombass Biotechnology Co., Ltd is a wholly-owned subsidiary established by Jiangsu Repont Agrochemical Co., Ltd. in June 2020. It is located in the Qinchuan Fine Chemical Industrial Park in the Lanzhou New Area, Gansu Province. Covering an area of 475 mu, the company has a total investment of RMB1.5 billion and a current built-up area of 70,000 square meters. The main products of this site are outlined in the Table 3:
