BemAgro, a leader in digital agriculture technology with its innovative software as a service (SaaS), reaches a new level with the conclusion of the investment round that has the participation of Suzano, the largest pulp manufacturer in the world and a global reference in the production of bioproducts from eucalyptus, and ATVOS, the second largest ethanol producer in Brazil, and a reference in clean energy in the country, two giants of national agribusiness. Marked by strong interest from investors in the agricultural sector, the current private equity round raised R$15 million and marked the conclusion of the series that began in February of this year, when BemAgro raised R$10.2 million in its first round, led by CHN, with the participation of Rural Ventures, MMAgro and Agroven.

According to Johann Coelho, founder and CEO of BemAgro, the conclusion of the additional investment fundraising demonstrates the recognition and strong interest of the agricultural market in the technology developed by BemAgro. He highlights an unprecedented movement in the Agtech market with the union of three giants in the startup's capital table. The goal of the new cycle is to boost revenue generation, increase investment in technology and open new market verticals. ″In this round, in addition to the R$15 million in contributions, we added more than R$35 million reais in contracts signed with our new shareholders″, comments Johann Coelho. "We are proud to bring together such influential players in our captable as Suzano, in its first investment in a Brazilian agtech, ATVOS and CNH, three leaders in their respective segments. We always take care in choosing our partners, prioritizing the preservation of BemAgro's vision for the future. Our goal is to reach 10 million hectares under management in the coming years. In addition to the financial investment, our partners are clients and references in their industries. This is a perfect match that projects the new cycle of revenue generation, increased investment in technology and expansion of market verticals", concludes Johann Coelho.

"We believe in the potential of the Brazilian ecosystem, and we are very happy to announce Suzano Ventures' first investment in an agtech in the country. We are looking for scalable solutions that bring more intelligence and digitalization to precision forestry in the field, in addition to preparing the operation for the challenges and growth of our forestry base", emphasizes Álvaro Gomez Rodriguez, manager of Suzano Ventures.

In addition to the strategic investment from Suzano Ventures, Suzano will also provide access to the company's planting areas and the knowledge of its specialists. With a co-development roadmap for the next two years, the goal is to accelerate the adoption of Bem Agro's technologies in the sector. Suzano Ventures has US$70 million to invest in startups and companies around the world to promote the advancement of the bioeconomy based on forest biomass.

″Atvos has been undergoing an intense transformation process in recent harvests, resuming investments in new technologies and innovation in its business fronts, both in crops and in the industry. The partnership with BemAgro is in line with important pillars of the company's strategic planning: having greater control of agro-industrial operations based on data analysis and the generation of practical information from the field, which will help us make decisions and apply corrective measures to minimize costs, optimize inputs, increase our productivity rates and take care of the environment″, says Alexandre Maganhato, CTO of Atvos.

About BemAgro

Founded in 2018 and headquartered in Ribeirão Preto, SP, BemAgro is a pioneering agtech in smart agriculture. Specializing in Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions, the company uses artificial intelligence and computer vision to optimize the entire agricultural cycle, from planting to harvesting.

The AI tools allow the processing of data from tractors and drones to plan the allocation of terraces (contour lines), define planting, spraying and harvesting routes. In addition, it detects weeds and generates variable rate application maps for growth regulators, urea, defoliants/desiccants, identification of planting failures, restitution of harvesting lines, parallelism and plant counting. These automated solutions increase operational yield, reduce costs and increase the productive potential of its customers.
