MANA introduces new Parallel Plus herbicide for corn and sorghum

Parallel Plus herbicide, manufactured by MANA Crop Protection, has received approval by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for a new state of the art formulation of metolachlor and atrazine for use on corn and grain sorghum.

Using MANA Crop Protection proprietary technology, new Parallel Plus provides superior levels of material stability, optimizing suspension integrity during pre-season (winter) storage and in advance of spring application.

Parallel Plus also requires less time and manual attention to handling and mixing - eliminating the need for monthly re-circulation during extended storage periods. In comparison to other metolachlor/ atrazine offerings, research completed by the manufacturer has shown that Parallel Plus surpasses the competition of these specific suspension and product handling characteristics.

"The development of this new offering was in direct response to what our customers ask for," says Dave Downing, herbicide product manager with MANA Crop Protection. "Market trial tests in 2011 delivered 100 percent customer satisfaction with new Parallel Plus - which has significantly impacted retailer and grower confidence in immediately adopting this new metolachlor/atrazine product entry."

Extending the value of new Parallel Plus is the inclusion of benoxacor - a superior crop safener that enhances a plant's ability to metabolize metolachlor, therefore reducing the potential for crop injury. During high soil moisture conditions and cool temperatures, metolachlor and benoxacor combine to ensure superior crop safety and improve performance.

Given the inclusion of benoxacor, Parallel Plus touts label approval for application on Concep treated grain sorghum.

Parallel Plus provides excellent pre- and early post emergent control of grasses, pigweeds, waterhemp and other small-seeded broadleaves including glyphosate resistant weed species.

"With two modes of action, Parallel Plus offers a solid foundation for a two-pass program on Roundup Ready, Clearfield and LibertyLink corn as well as conventional seed varieties," Downing says. "It also has seamless compatibility with water and nitrogen fertilizer solutions which extends the product's functionality and flexibility in use."
