Taranis, a leading provider of crop intelligence and conservation services for agricultural retailers and growers, has published its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Report for the 2023-2024 fiscal year. The report underscores Taranis’ dedication to sustainable agricultural practices and highlights significant achievements across environmental, social and governance pillars.

Opher Flohr, Taranis Chief Executive Officer, stated, ″At Taranis, we serve an important purpose: creating a more sustainable and prosperous future for humankind by leading the next revolution in agriculture.″

Taranis is addressing climate change by leveraging technologies like machine learning, artificial intelligence and precision agriculture. The goal is a sustainable future with thriving agriculture, a healthy environment, and universal access to nutritious food. Taranis is focused on climate change mitigation and adaptation, environmental impact and food security.

Ayelet Tamir, Taranis Chief People & Culture Officer and ESG Executive Leader, shares, ″These are important times for Taranis as we reinforce our dedication to sustainable farming and future through conservation services and initiatives of this nature. We are committed to fostering an inclusive and responsible culture that positively impacts our employees and communities.″

″At Taranis, we believe sustainable agricultural practices are essential for a thriving planet and a prosperous business,″ said Flohr. ″Our advanced crop intelligence and conservation services empower growers to optimize resource use, reduce waste and increase yields – promoting sustainable farming practices that drive long-term value creation. We are aligning our business practices with Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) standards consistent with our vision of a technology-enabled, sustainable agriculture industry. Our report provides an overview of the company’s ESG program and practices and highlights the progress made to date.″

Earlier this year, the company launched its conservation services offering to support growers with simplified application and practice validation opportunities for USDA conservation funding programs for additional revenue streams.

″Taranis is redefining how crop input and management decisions are made on the farm. Our service aligns perfectly with USDA’s mission to promote conservation while maximizing profitability for growers. Therefore, we have an edge in obtaining funding from USDA programs for our growers,″ Flohr explains. ″I believe this is just the start—as USDA continues to add funding for precise application practices that are unlocked by technologies like Taranis, we will be vigilant to make sure our growers are first in line to receive those funds.″

Socially, Taranis prioritizes an inclusive and responsible culture, aiming to make a positive impact on its employees and communities.

″We understand that our success depends on the well-being of both,″ said Tamir. ″Our initiatives include employee development and well-being, diversity, equity and inclusion, community engagement, workplace health and safety, and human rights.″

In terms of governance, Flohr says Taranis embraces transparency through active stakeholder engagement by openly sharing goals and challenges to help improve and focus on deliverables for better results.

Flohr adds, ″Robust corporate governance and a sound ethical framework form the cornerstone of our company’s foundation, encompassing ethics and compliance and data privacy.″
