According to the FarmTrak survey conducted by Kynetec, Adjuvant products generated BRL2.9 billion in Brazil in 2023.

The segment of products that complemented the formulation of agricultural pesticide sprays quadrupled over nine harvests, primarily due to an improved mixture and application.

According to the study, which captured the management practices of Brazilian producers and covered more than 20 crops, adjuvant sales totaled BRL734 million in 2015.

According to Kynetec, soybeans led the demand for adjuvants, with BRL1.6 billion in business or 56% of the total. Corn ranked second, with 18% or BRL522 million in revenue, followed by wheat and cotton, each accounting for 5% of transactions, with BRL140 million and BRL136 million, respectively. Rounding up the top five was the sugarcane crop, with 4% or BRL113 million in revenue, which the Kynetec survey highlighted.

Raquel Ribeiro.jpegAccording to Kynetec specialist Raquel Ribeiro, the use of adjuvants in Brazilian crops is growing significantly. In soybean areas, the adoption of these products increased from 87% (2015) to 98%, she noted. In the second corn crop (safrinha), the rate rose from 59% to 95%, and in the summer crop, from 43% to 80%, while in sugarcane, it went from 39% to 71%.

Other crops also contributed to the growth of adjuvants, such as eucalyptus, where adoption jumped from 10% to 28%, and grapes, where the rate increased from 33% to 83%, according to Raquel Ribeiro.

According to the executive, adding adjuvants to agricultural pesticide sprays improved the solution's quality and consequently, the crop's treatment.

″Adjuvants enhance the spreading and adhesion of pesticides, as well as their absorption by the plant,″ Raquel explained.

She emphasized that other beneficial effects of adjuvants include reducing drift and promoting the good performance of important molecules like 2,4-D and glyphosate.
