Kombass' annual 6,600-ton sulfentrazone and bentazone project completed

Recently, the environmental completion acceptance report of the premium pesticide TC and intermediates project (phase I and phase II), launched by China’s agrochemical company Gansu Kombass Biotechnology Co., Ltd., was publicized on the relevant website for public comment. According to the project completion acceptance report, the acceptance is a phased acceptance of production lines of Methyl 2-[[[(1-methylethyl)amino]sulfonyl]amino]benzoate, bentazone, carfentrazone-ethyl, triazolone, mesulfachlor and sulfentrazone.

According to open information, the project is located in the chemical industry park of Lanzhou New Area, with a total investment of RMB1.5 billion yuan; this phased acceptance covers an investment of RMB85 million yuan including environmental spend of RMB28.52 million yuan, accounting for 33.55% of the total investment.

The objects of acceptance cover 1,000 tons of Methyl 2-sulfamoylbenzoate, 1,000 tons of bentazone, 300 tons of amides, 300 tons of carfentrazone-ethyl, 2,000 tons of triazolone and 2,000 tons of sulfentrazone, as well as the supportive environmental facilities (waste gas treatment and wastewater treatment). 

Founded on June 9, 2020, Gansu Kombass Biotechnology Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary controlled by Jiangsu Repont. Founded in 2000, Jiangsu Repont is specialized in manufacturer of sulfonylurea herbicides in China. The company is headquartered in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province. Repont possesses two production bases, which are respectively the Rudong base in Jiangsu and the Gansu base. The Rudong base covers a land area of 200 mu and floor area of 56,000 square meters; The Gansu base is run by Gansu Kombass Biotechnology Co., Ltd., covering a land area of 475 mu and floor area of 70,000 square meters at present.
