Sipcam Nichino Brasil exclusively announced to AgroPages the launch of the Elios 800 WG fungicide, formulated with the flutriafol as the active ingredient.

According to the manufacturer, this new technology is specific for controlling coffee rust (Hemileia vastatrix). It is a solution described by Sipcam Nichino Brasil as systemic from the triazole group and recommended for soil application.

Eric Ono.jpgAccording to the company's researcher, agronomist Eric Ono, the action of Elios 800 WG causes a collapse in the fungus cell wall causing the disease and inhibiting the growth of hyphae (cell filaments). According to Ono, for the coffee grower to obtain good results against rust in their crop, Sipcam Nichino's recommends applying the new Elios 800 WG when the crop is in the flowering stage.

"Ideal for a single application in the crop, at the right moment, observing the uniform distribution of the product in the planting line," he highlighted.

1683151256733.jpegSpecialists said rust is considered the most severe disease in Brazilian coffee, and if not controlled, can lead to crop and plantation losses. Ono explained that the occurrence of the pathogen causes early leaf drop and drying of branches, with significant losses in productivity. The ideal conditions for developing the rust-causing agent are mainly low relative humidity and high luminosity under temperatures of 20ºC to 25ºC.

In addition to Elios 800 WG, Sipcam Nichino also markets, as part of its solutions for coffee plants: Fujimite 50 SC (acaricide), Trebon 100 SC (insecticide), Brisa, Fezan Gold, Metiltiofan, and Cuprozeb (fungicides), and the biostimulants Abyss, Blackjak, Stilo Verde, and Nutex Premium.
