Under the requests from Bayer CropScience, the Australian authority APVMA has cancelled the “Active Constituent Approval” for three fungicides: trifloxystrobin, bitertanol and pyrimethanil on August 23th, 2011.
However, this does not mean that Bayer lost all the approvals for the supplies of above ais in Australia. According to regulatory systems in Australia, the “Active Constituent Approvals” are classified by whether the approval was for new active constituent or new source of active constituent, and the above canceled approval were defined into the "new source of active constituent”. Thus the manufacturing sites involved in the above cancellations have to stop the supply of the three fungicides after 23 August 2013.
Bayer remains 4 other “Active Constituent Approval” for the three fungicides and may continue the supplies of the fungicides from the remained approved sources.
