Jiangshan Agrochemical & Chemicals constructing RMB22-billion phosphorus chemical project with Wengfu Group to create complete circular industry chain

On January 27 in China, the signing ceremony of the Guizhou Jiangshan-Wengfu New Materials & Electronic Chemicals Project was held by the Guizhou Phosphorous Industries Group. During the ceremony, Nantong Jiangshan Agrochemical & Chemicals signed an investment agreement with Weng’an County Government and Wengfu (Group) Co., Ltd., to implement a phosphorus circular industry chain project.

The project is located within the Fine Chemical Park of Weng’an Economic Development Zone, covering a land area of 6,000 mu, with an investment of RMB22 billion yuan jointly provided by Wengfu Group and Jiangshan Agrochemical & Chemicals. The project involves nine industry sectors and encompasses more than 20 project components. After the project’s completion, it will generate an annual output value of more than RMB40 billion yuan.

The phosphorus resource utilization project led by Jiangshan Agrochemical & Chemicals is being undertaken by Jiangshan (Guizhou) Crop Science, with an investment of RMB3.6 billion yuan, covering a land area of 800 mu and to be constructed over three phases. After its completion, the project will generate an annual revenue of RMB5.284 billion yuan and profit and tax of RMB900 million yuan, as well as will create 600 jobs.

The cooperation between Jiangshan Agrochemical & Chemicals and Wengfu Group greatly benefits the two parties’ industry chain complementarity, and will help establish a complete circular industry chain and achieve resource recycling, reducing operating cost and improving competitiveness. 

Currently, Wengfu Group has established its relatively complete wet phosphorus chemical industry system, is planning to build a production base in Weng’an and is keen to extend the industrial chain. The proposed project will utilize the advantages of the phosphorus and chlorine resources of the Fine Chemical Park to achieve a coordinated industry chain development.

Jiangshan Agrochemical & Chemicals is a 60-year-old pesticide manufacturer and leading glyphosate producer in China. The company has distinctive and complete key business system, specializing in pesticide and chemical production. It also has its own power station, water works, 10,000-tonnage Yangtze River wharf and chlor-alkali factory, as well as facilities for pesticides and intermediates, pesticide formulations, new nano insulation materials, flame retardants and waste treatment.
