New Head of Communications & Government Affairs for BASF’s Crop Protection Divisionqrcode

Dr. Kristina Winzen has been appointed Vice President of Global Communications & Public Government Affairs for BASF’s Crop Protection division as of September 1, 2011. She succeeds Dr. Birgit Schneider who takes over as Vice President of the Crop Protection division’s Global R&D Project Management Office and Site Services for Limburgerhof, Germany, and Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.

Kristina Winzen (42) studied social and economic history at the Universities of Bonn, Germany, and Durham, UK. She joined BASF in 1998 and held various positions in Corporate Communications Europe before transferring to BASF Antwerpen N.V. in 2004 on a project assignment. From 2007 to May 2011 she was head of Change Communications & Corporate History at BASF in Ludwigshafen. Currently she is working as a change management expert for the project “Employee Development.”
 
Birgit Schneider (47) studied agronomy at the University of Giessen, Germany. She joined BASF in 1995 and held various positions in communications for the company’s Crop Protection division before working as a marketing manager for herbicides both in Germany and the United States from 1998 until 2002. She was then in charge of project management for an acquisition. She has been head of communications for BASF’s Crop Protection division since 2003 and took over additional responsibilities for government affairs in 2008.
