Sales of Ipanema spraying planes rise 18% in 2023

Embraer's agricultural aviation division delivered 65 Ipanema aircraft in 2023, an 18% increase compared to the previous year, the company exclusively told AgroPages. 

Consequently, in December, the company reached the historic milestone of producing and delivering 1,600 units during five decades of uninterrupted production of the agrochemical spraying aircraft. Since the launch of the new EMB-203 model in 2020, Embraer has consistently experienced sales growth and plans to increase production to 70 aircraft this year.

"The agribusiness has a significant positive impact on Brazil's gross domestic product (GDP), and we are pleased to see how the Ipanema has contributed to the productivity, efficiency and sustainability of the sector," said Sany Onofre, Program Manager for the Ipanema at Embraer.

As the leader in the national aerial spraying market, the Ipanema introduces "innovations and enhancements that raise reliability with lower operational costs and carbon emissions," the company said. 

The Ipanema is the only certified and mass-produced agricultural aircraft designed to fly on ethanol, a renewable energy source that increases the aircraft engine's power.
