Japan produced 11,017 tons of pesticide in June 2011

According to statistics from the Japan Crop Protection Association, Japanese pesticide production has reached to 11,017 tons in the month of June,  the accumulative production from October 2010 to June 2011 was 155,837 tons, down by 0.5% year on year, and the accumulative sales has down by 0.7% to 275.345 billion Yen.

On volume base, the pesticides produced for paddy crop has down by 1.8%; the pesticide for fruit and vegetables & field crops have grown by 1.5% and 2.3% respectively, the production for other uses such as non-agricultural , garden, golf has shrunk by 11.4%, other sections such as PGR, other biocide, bio-pesticide have down by 3%. Pesticides for paddy and fruit pesticides have posted growth of 1.6% and 1.0% respectively in value bases, while the pesticides on vegetables & field crops, other uses and other sections have down by 2.5%, 6.7%, and 3%.

For products categories, volumes for insecticides, fungicides, insecticide/fungicide, herbicides and PGRs have increased by -2.6%, 5.4%, -9.1%, 1.3% and 2.0%, and the value changes of the above categories were: -5.1%, -1.3%, 1.6%, 2.4% and 2.8%.
