BASF announced two launches for the Paraguayan market during Agrodinámica 2023, which was specially covered by AgroPages.

The biggest news presented at the event was the announcement of the fungicide, Keyra (mefentrifluconazole + fenpropimorph), for soybeans. According to BASF, the product incorporates the active ingredient, Revysol, belonging to the chemical group of triazoles.

BASF said the new product features a ″totally new and exclusive technology in the market.″

This is because Revysol's Flexy Power technology has an isopropanol unit in its molecular structure that is flexible, which allows the molecule to have different configurations, enabling it to bind to the C14-dimethylase enzyme up to 100 times better than conventional triazoles, even in the presence of some resistant biotypes, the company added.

″The fungicide, Revysol Flexy Power, is an important tool for managing resistance in strategic crops, which will help farmers manage their crops more efficiently and achieve greater productivity,″ BASF said.

In terms of its herbicide line, BASF announced, at Agrodinámica, the launch of the active ingredient, Tirexor (trifludimoxazin), a new class of protoporphyrin oxidase (PPO) inhibitors that control broadleaf weeds. This technology will be incorporated into the formula of the herbicide, Brontirex, which was formulated based on Safflux Benazil.

According to the manufacturer, this launch's main feature and benefit is its better drying effect, as well as its control forcefulness, superior burn and residual effect.

″Our goal is to become a comprehensive solutions company and expand the options we can offer to farmers,″ said Rodolfo Viana, Crop Consultant for Paraguay, Uruguay and Bolivia at BASF's Agricultural Solutions Division.

″This is why we are continuing to invest heavily in research and development, so producers can continue to trust BASF,″ he added.

″For us, it is essential to promote our future innovations in society, as we are a leading company in terms of innovation, and we not only bring innovation to the market, we also do it sustainably. We are seriously commitment to achieving food security for future generations,″ he said in conclusion.
