The Brazilian agrochemical company Nortox has gained market share in Paraguay, leveraging the Expo Agrodinámica 2023 fair to showcase its portfolio.
During the event, Nortox highlighted four registered pesticide technologies in Paraguay, said Roberto Maneira, an agronomical engineer from Nortox's Market Development.
The first is Protioconazol P, a mixture of two active ingredients: protioconazol + picoxystrobin, a product for which Nortox obtained exclusive registration for Paraguay. According to the manufacturer, it is a fungicide with systemic properties, preventive, curative, and post-infectious action with residual effects.
The second is Trifluralina Nortox Gold, a herbicide with Emulsifiable Concentrate (EC) formulation and selective, systemic, and pre-emergence action.
Maneira emphasized that the third, the fungicide and acaricide Mancozeb Nortox, has a Water-dispersible Granule (WG) formulation and protective and contact action. "This is a strategic product for Nortox, especially in Paraguay compared to Brazil," the Market Development representative pointed out.
Finally, the fourth highlighted product is Imidacloprid Nortox, a systemic insecticide classified as "Gold" standard by the manufacturer.
"Its mechanism of action occurs through the antagonism of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in the central nervous system, thus altering signal transmission at nerve synapses, causing hyperexcitability due to continuous transmission of nerve impulses, leading to paralysis and death of the insect," Nortox explained.
APPLICATION TECHNOLOGY
Another highlight of Nortox at Agrodinámica 2023 was the demonstration of the Protac AD technology, an adjuvant that acts as a conditioner and equalizer of spray solutions.
According to Nortox, the product provided a more homogeneous, precise, and uniform mixture of products in spray solutions, improving the quality of pesticide and fertilizer sprays. Moreover, it neutralized reactions between various molecules through better product dispersion in the solution, reducing problems of physical and chemical incompatibility.
During the fair, Nortox technicians demonstrated the compatibility and incompatibility of the Protac Kit with agrochemicals.
Another product demonstrated in practice, in the "wind tunnel," was Phosfix Nortox AD, an adjuvant indicated for conditioning the water used in spray solutions, acting as a sequestering agent for suspended cations (complexing free elements), reducing pH and buffering the solution's pH, and reducing excessive foam formation.
The Brazilian company received an "Honorable Mention" from the Agrodinámica 2023 organizer, Cooperativa Colonias Unidas, one of the largest cooperatives in the country, during the event.
