Paraguayan company H3 Agrochemicals, in partnership with multinational FMC, unveiled the fungicide Fidresa during the Agrodinámica 2023 fair, which received special coverage from AgroPages.
Formulated on the exclusive molecule Fluindapyr, the first carboxamide for which FMC held intellectual property, combined with a triazole, the product achieved an innovative fungicide with a broad spectrum of disease control.
According to the manufacturer, the product offered "excellent control of late-stage diseases and rust, as well as making a significant contribution to resistance management and increased productivity."
Matías Moreno, Agronomic Engineer and Product Manager of Insecticides and Fungicides for FMC in the Southern Cone of Latin America, stated that Fidresa was positioned for application from the vegetative phase of the plant to the early reproductive phase before grain filling. The professional explained that Fidresa, a fungicide recently evaluated with very positive results in different test networks in Argentina and Paraguay, is expected to provide an alternative mode of action for active ingredient rotation in soy disease management.
H3 Agrochemicals Vice President, Agronomic Engineer Roberto Maier, emphasized the importance of this launch for the company. He said Fidresa was a "top-tier" fungicide that would be a "very important tool in the field for managing soy rust and other diseases."
Agronomic Engineer César González, FMC's commercial representative in Paraguay and Bolivia, commented that Fidresa has entered the Paraguayan market with high expectations, especially in a year with high disease pressure due to the climatic conditions arising from the El Niño climate phenomenon.
Agronomic Engineer Patricia Mendoza, Head of Development at H3 Agrochemicals, mentioned that Fidresa is coming to "revolutionize the Paraguayan market as an innovative molecule that would offer producers the opportunity to establish a much more robust disease management program."
H3 Agrochemicals and its network would exclusively distribute this field solution in eight points across Paraguay. Based in Encarnación, the company also has a corporate office in the capital, Asunción, and six branches at strategic locations in the country, with a team of 30 agronomic engineers advising producers.
The launch event in Agrodinámica 2023 also featured a lecture on soy disease management by phytopathologist Wilfrido Morel.
