Ascenza launches herbicide Deflexo, acaricide Cloud in Brazilqrcode

The Portuguese multinational, Ascenza, announced exclusively to AgroPages the launch of two new technologies in Brazil. One of them is the pre-emergent herbicide, Deflexo, formulated with the active ingredient, S-metolachlor. According to the manufacturer, the product is recommended for controlling narrow-leaved weeds.


Deflexo.jpgDeflexo has an Emulsifiable Concentrate (EC) formulation and a selective mode of action, and should to applied during pre-emergence, following the "plant and apply" concept. According to Ascenza, the product is registered in Brazil for application on cotton, sugarcane, canola, beans, sunflower, corn and soybeans. Among the targets of the new herbicide are invasive species, such as Amaranthus hybridus, Amaranthus viridis, Brachiaria decumbens and plantaginea, Cenchrus echinatus, Digitaria horizontalis, Eleusine indica, Galinsoga parviflora, Nicandra physaloides, Pennisetum setosum (Buffelgrass), Portulaca oleracea, Solanum americanum and Spermacoce latifolia.cloud.jpg


The other release is the acaricide, Cloud, formulated with spirodiclofen, an active ingredient from the Ketenol chemical family. According to the manufacturer, the product "joins the company's solutions for citrus crops." Cloud is also aimed at controlling mites that affect coffee, coconut, apple, papaya, rubber and tomato crops. Formulated as a Suspension Concentrate (SC), the product achieves contact action, eliminating various species of mites.

The multinational, Ascenza, has been expanding its presence in Brazil and has already presented a portfolio with 37 solutions for grain and horticulture and fruit (HF) crops. For the 2023/24 crop, there were nine launches in the herbicide, insecticide and fungicide categories.

According to agronomist Patrícia Cesarino, marketing and development manager at Ascenza, the company, part of the Rovensa Group, has "well-defined strategies" and plans to bring more releases to the Brazilian market. "We are growing, developing, making investments and bringing novelties, and our purpose is work alongside farmers, supporting whatever they need," she said.
