Recently, Chinese agrochemical company Shandong Kangqiao Bio-technology (Kangqiao) received a common name from the Chinese National Pesticide Technical Standardization Committee for its new acaricide, Benmanmizuo(苯螨咪唑).
Benmanmizuo is a new generation acaricidal insecticide with a novel structure and unknown mechanism of action. It offers excellent acaricidal activity and potential insecticidal activity.
Indoor trial
The activity of Benmanmizuo against harmful mites, such as Tetranychus cinnabarinus, is significantly superior to existing acaricides, and there is no cross resistance with existing acaricides.
Field trial
At low dosages, Benmanmizuo shows excellent control effect against Tetranychus cinnabarinus, spotted spider mites and citrus red mite, with a 25-day effect.
Benmanmizuo has minimal toxicity to mammals while being safe for common crops, such as flowers, vegetables and fruit trees, and having no significant impact on honeybees and aquatic organisms. It is an environmentally-friendly and highly selective acaricidal insecticide.
Currently, Kangqiao has initiated the registration process for Benmanmizuo. The future market launch of Benmanmizuo will provide growers with a brand-new application experience in the control of resistant mites.
Kangqiao has invested considerably in the research and development of acaricides, and is gradually obtaining research and development results.
In January 2023, Kangqiao announced the release of the company’s first brand-new patented compound, Benbianmanxianan (苯苄螨酰胺), which is the first acaricides developed by Kangqiao, being granted the common name by the Chinese National Pesticide Technical Standardization Committee on December 12, 2021, followed by start of its commercialization process. The ISO common name has been filed.
