Sipcam Nichino Brazil exclusively informed AgroPages that it will start commercializing a new innovative version of the product, Cefanol (acephate), in November 2023. The new version is ″Cefanol Gold″, which will now feature a more modern formulation, with 22% more active ingredient.
Cefanol Gold will, therefore, became the company’s most concentrated acephate product in the Brazilian market. The company said that the product is registered for eight crops, which are cotton, peanuts, potatoes, citrus fruits, beans, melons, soybeans and industrial tomatoes.
According to Sipcam Nichino, Cefanol Gold is as a systemic insecticide that acts through contact and ingestion. In total, the product controls almost 40 insect pests that affect crops for which it is registered.
The product is recommended for economically relevant biological targets, such as:
• Cotton bollworm (Heliothis virescens) in cotton
• Fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda) in potatoes
• Citrus mealybugs (Orthezia praelonga)
• Whitefly in beans (Bemisia tabaci)
• Soybean bugs - Euschistus heros (Brown stink bug), Nezara viridula (Green stink bug) and Piezodorus guildinii (Small green stink bug in soybeans)
• Leaf miner (Liriomyza huidobrensis)
• Tomato fruit borer (Helicoverpa zea) in industrial tomatoes
