Cromo Química inaugurates laboratories for adjuvants' R&D

Brazilian company Cromo Química has inaugurated a new unit in Brazil with two laboratories dedicated to the research and development (R&D) of new high-performance adjuvants and enhancers.

The new manufacturing plant covers an area of around 1,600-square meters and is located in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

With this new facility, the production capacity of Cromo Química, a company controlled by the Crop Care holding, is expected to expand by more than 200%, exceeding 5 million liters per year.

Marcelo Pessanha, CEO of Crop Care, said, ″We integrated Cromo Química into Crop Care in January 2023 and since then, we have witnessed significant advancements in manufacturing expansion.″

According to Pessanha, there are "great plans for the area of high-performance adjuvants and enhancers."

″This is because we are facing a scenario of input price instability, but there is significant demand for more sustainable and competitive agriculture,″ he added.

For this expansion, Cromo Química has hired more than 20 employees, with the aim of integrating the new manufacturing center.

"In addition to being a robust complex, we will have two research and development laboratories, one dedicated solely to adjuvants and the other to enhancers," said Josir Neuls, founder of Cromo Química.

Crop Care is executing its expansion plan to cover all companies within the holding, especially Agrobiológica Sustentabilidade and Cromo Química.

"At Agrobiológica, we will invest over BRL100 million in the company’s expansion and modernization until 2025. With this expansion, the goal is to more than double our production capacity, relying on a modern and technological manufacturing complex that should be able to launch 20 new products for the coming production cycles," Pessanha said.

Founded in 2018, Cromo Química specializes in the production of high-performance adjuvants and enhancers for agriculture, with a focus on soybeans, corn, cotton and winter crops.

The company operates mainly in the south and midwest regions of Brazil, the country's largest grain-producing regions.

"The business plan for Cromo Química includes a series of innovations in its portfolio, contributing to the expansion of its production capacity. Our goal is to increase the number of offerings for Brazilian farmers, providing sustainable and efficient products," Pessanha said in conclusion.
