Albaugh's Braver enters ProteCitrus list of authorized products for Brazilian citrus growers

The recently launched acaricide from Albaugh for citrus crops, Braver, has been included in the Products for Citrus Protection (ProteCitrus) list. The list is a voluntary program launched by the sector to monitors standards for pesticide regulations for Brazil and citrus-importing countries, and contains the list of products authorized for use on Brazilian citrus crops.

According to Albaugh, the aim is to help producers comply with good agricultural practices and use only authorized products when protecting their orchards. 

Braver (Spirodiclofen) recently received registration from Brazilian regulatory agencies for use in mite control. The acaricide is not systemic, but it acts by contact at all stages of mite development. In addition to citrus, Braver can be sprayed on coffee, coconut, apple, papaya, rubber and tomato crops.

The ProteCitrus list was recently updated to include an additional 34 new commercial products, as well as exclude the active ingredient, phosmet, which was not granted its registration renewal by the European Union.
