The Argentine company Agro Sustentable announced another step in its international expansion by opening new headquarters in Spain.
According to the Argentines, their strategy differs from other local companies, which first try to grow in their own country and then expand international business by attracting foreign capital. Agro Sustentable intends to open European markets by investing in the Iberian country, taking advantage of its socio-environmental vision and triple impact purpose: social, environmental, and economic problems. In Argentina alone, the company has registered more than 20,000 rural producers using its solutions, which shows ″wide acceptance in the Argentine small and medium producer sector.″
In Spain, the company is associated with the Spanish Confederation of Young Entrepreneurs. It claims to export ″knowledge in agrotechnology through its products and services, having all the experience and knowledge to create sustainable agribusinesses, which promote Good Agricultural Practices and promote food security.″
The Agro Sustentable project will bring its line of bio-inputs for agriculture to Spain, made up of organic inputs without traces of agrochemicals or synthetic fertilizers. Joaquín Basanta, president of Agro Sustentable, commented, ″the use of bioinputs is very favorable″ and result from investments in Research and Development (R&D) in formulations and results that are favorable to the environment.
″The fact of preserving the land has an impact on the durability of the soil, and if we think from the perspective of profitability, it is very beneficial for producers, as extending the useful life of the land will allow them to enjoy that field for longer,″ he argued.
The Argentines also announced that this year they structured a new AgTech business unit in which they have incorporated the application service for their bio-inputs through agricultural drones, among other cutting-edge resources. In this sense, the company has also been working on a new tool based on artificial intelligence, developing an application that will allow harvest monitoring, anticipating possible challenges in favor of producers who adopt this solution.
″Technology plays an increasingly transformative role in the agribusiness value chain because it drives changes in the use of resources, cultivation techniques, forms of production, business models, and the development of new products,″ Joaquín Basanta warned. He said, ″In the long term, the widespread adoption of agricultural drones will reduce the practice of manual spraying, which will significantly improve productivity, achieving more efficient use of natural resources and inputs.″
