Hailir’s subsidiary to spend RMB680 million on launch of an annual 4,000-ton technical/intermediate project

Recently, Qingdao Hengning Biotechnology Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of China’s Hailir Group, publicized the environmental impact assessment on the local government website for its green pesticide technical and intermediate project.

According to the public announcement, the total investment of the project is RMB684.36 million yuan, covering land area of 15 mu (1 mu = 1/15 HA). The project measures include 5-methyl-2-nitrobenzoic acid and annual 263.1-ton 3-Methyl-4-nitrobenzoic acid (by-product), 20,000-ton  Bis(trichloromethyl)carbonate, 3,000-ton trifloxystrobin, 4,000-ton 2,3 dichloropyridine, 3,000-ton 3-Methyl-2-nitrobenzoic acid (technical material), 2500-ton oxime ether, 2,000-ton (trifluoromethyl)acetophenone, 7,500-ton 2,6-dichloropyridine and 7,200-ton 2,3,6-trichloropyridine (intermediate).

Founded in July 2019, Qingdao Hengning Biotechnology Co., Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hailir Group. The business scope covers production and marketing of pesticides and fine chemicals. Hailir Group was founded in 1999, being a national designated pesticide manufacturer. It is a large-scale agrochemical group integrating the research and development, production and marketing of pesticides and functional fertilizers, in possession of a number of large pesticide production bases. Its production and sales of pesticide formulations are ranked in the forefront of the industry.
