Andav Congress 2023: Distribution of inputs earned BRL145 billion in 2022qrcode

The agricultural inputs distribution market reached revenues of BRL145.3 billion in 2022, according to information released at the Andav 2023 Congress, which received special coverage from AgroPages.

Of this amount, the area of agrochemicals and fertilizers and the like represented BRL105 billion, while the sale of grains was BRL40.3 billion.

The amount refers to members of the National Association of Agricultural and Veterinary Input Distributors (Andav), who represent 75% of Brazil’s total agricultural input distribution market in Brazil.

The information is part of the 8th National Distribution Survey, an initiative by Andav and organized by Markestrat.

″The survey evaluates eight key topics for the agricultural inputs distribution market, contributing to an understanding of the national and regional scenario and the planning of business strategies and customer service for our associates. It is a broad vision to understand the opportunities and challenges,″ said Executive President of Andav, Paulo Tiburcio.

This edition had the participation of 80% of the associates, which represents more than 2200 points of sale.

Regarding culture, soybeans are the leaders (55%), followed by corn 2nd harvest (20%). By sector, crop protection products accounted for the largest share (46%), followed by fertilizers (26%) and seeds (17%).

In the grain commercialization area, 29% of the distributors worked in this segment, and the highlight was the 15.9 million tons of soybeans and 8.2 million tons of corn sold.

When it comes to points of sale, the sector opened 283 new stores last year, which represented an increase of 15% compared to 2021.

Distributors expect to open 894 new stores over the next three years.

According to Tiburcio, the survey revealed that companies with revenues between BRL 100 million and BRL 600 million account for the highest percentage of acquiring new units.

In 2022, the sector grew by 12% in the number of employees, with 35,000 new professionals in distribution.

Regarding ESG issues, more than 500,000 people were served by social initiatives, and more than 80% of distributors adopt quality policies.

In the environmental area, approximately BRL35 million was invested in projects in the area.
