Several days ago, Chinese agrochemical company Shandong Huayang Pesticide Chemical Group announced its plan to build an annual 5,000-ton acephate plant.

According to the announcement, the project is located in Ningyang Chemical Industrial Park, Ningyang County, Tai’an City, within the existing plant area of Shandong Huayang Pesticide Chemical Group Co., Ltd. The total investment in the plant is RMB307.2 million yuan, of which 20 million will be spent on pollution control. After the completion of the project, it will produce 5,000 tons of acephate per year. The construction work includes equipment installation, as well as the construction of utility supply and environmental facilities.

Acephate is a high-efficient, low-toxic and low-residue systemic contact toxicity-based insecticide, being applicable to cotton, tobacco and trees for pest control. It is a substitute for the highly toxic insecticide, methamidophos, as it is an acetylated derivative.

The proposed project encompasses a new low-cost and high acephate content-oriented process, which facilitates a close follow-up of market dynamics and technical trends, with the advantage of promotion and marketing.

Shandong Huayang Pesticide Chemical Group Co., Ltd., was founded in 1966 on a site formerly known as Ningyang Pesticide Factory, located in the Ningyang Chemical Industrial Park, Ningyang County, Tai’an City. It is a science and technology-driven enterprise engaged in the production of pesticides and fine chemicals.

Pesticides and fine chemicals are the company’s pillar, with pesticide being its core product, covering four series, which are insecticides, fungicides, herbicides and seed coating agents.
