Corteva Agriscience presented the insecticide, Revolux (Jemvelva Active and Methoxifenozide), as an alternative for controlling the sugarcane borer (Diatraea saccharalis).
The product was showcased during the 19th Insectshow & Bioinsumos, an event that took place this week in the Brazilian state of São Paulo, which was specially covered by AgroPages.
The event is the largest in Latin America covering the control of pests that affect sugarcane, which is one of the most important crops for agribusiness in Brazil, a world leader in sugar exports.
On July 19, agronomist Lucas Machado, who represented Linha Cana da Corteva, gave the lecture, titled, ″Revolux: The right choice for controlling the drill.″
During the presentation, Machado explained how Linha Cana's solutions, combined with other tools in the company's portfolio, can provide support in controlling pests that affect sugarcane crops.
Revolux® is an insecticide composed of two actives, Jemvelva Active and Methoxifenozide, which act with two different modes of action for the prolonged protection of sugarcane.
According to the manufacturer, the product is selective of natural enemies, making it a reference solution for Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and allowing the rotation of modes of action within a resistance management strategy.
The insecticide acts in the initial reduction of pests, due to its fast action on caterpillars, being the only product on the market with an ovicidal action.
″All these attributes, combined with its long residual effect, make it the right choice for the first application, providing a long period of control and a wide window of protection from the formation to and development of new culms,″ Corteva said.
In addition to Revolux, Corteva's Cane Line portfolio is in constant evolution, consisting of herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, ripeners and biologicals that feature differentiated technologies, to enable producers to attain the maximum productive potential of their sugarcane fields.
