Syngenta Agricultural Protection announced last week the conclusion of the acquisition of an Ultrafine unit located in Indaiatuba-SP, a business partner with more than 30 years of activity.

This is part of a robust investment project, which includes the expansion of the Paulínia-SP plant and which will result in the expansion of the company's production capacity in the country, thus generating new jobs and opportunities for the local community, as per the announcement held in January of this year.

″This investment is part of Syngenta's plan to meet the growing demand of Brazilian agriculture and represents an important step towards guaranteeing the support producers need. It allows us to leverage rural prosperity and enable solutions to the challenges experienced in the countryside - an important proof of our commitment, which arrives just in time for the 2023/2024 harvest,″ said Juan Pablo Llobet, President of Syngenta Produção de Cultivos Brasil and LATAM. ″As national agriculture continues to grow, generating resources and helping to feed the world sustainably, we need to find additional alternatives to guarantee the supply of inputs for farmers,″ Llobet added.

Investment is part of Syngenta's plan to meet the growing demand from agriculture.

″The Paulínia unit now supplies Brazil and other Latin American countries. However, growth in recent years has outstripped the unit's expansion capacity to absorb this demand. The Ultrafine subsidiary proved to be the best alternative for immediate expansion and will now operate under the name of Kubix,″ explained Jorge Buzzetto, Director of Operations for Syngenta Protection of Crops, in Latin America.

The Kubix unit will feature solar panels, intelligent and digitized metering of resource consumption, natural lighting and air conditioning optimization for offices and administrative areas, water reuse, sustainable construction methods and state-of-the-art water treatment facility elements that make up the efficiency and sustainability of operations.
