Huma, a company regarded for developing innovative humic solutions and technologies to support regen ag and soil health initiatives, has appointed two new members to its board of directors. This includes Chief Marketing Officer Fred Nichols and Chief Financial Officer Steve Lunt, effective immediately.

"We are thrilled to welcome Fred and Steve to the board during this pivotal phase when our company is experiencing record-breaking growth and expansion," said Lyndon Smith, Huma CEO.

"They both have shown incredible leadership during the past few months while we were transitioning to Huma--and combined, they bring a wealth of global experience in the fields of marketing and finance, which will further enhance and strengthen the diverse expertise of the board. Their appointments reflect our company's evolution and its long-term commitment to serving the world with exceptional humic solutions."

Fred Nichols is an ag marketing veteran with 35 years of experience who joined the company as chief marketing officer in the fall of 2022. Since then, he has played a key role in spearheading the company's rebranding endeavor, which was officially announced on June 1. Nichols is a member of the Agricenter International Board of Directors in Memphis, Tennessee, where he also conducts on-farm research.

"There has never been a more exciting time to work in agriculture, and the same can be said for working at Huma. Our brand name is a month old, our company is 50 years old, and our products are millions of years in the making," Nichols noted. "I'm proud to serve on the board of directors for a company that recognizes and supports a new dawn in agriculture. As the regen ag and soil health movements continue to grow, so does the momentum for our natural, humic-based technologies that grow profit on the farm and meet consumer demands for sustainably produced food and fiber."

Steve Lunt joined Huma in 2020 as the corporate controller and has risen through the ranks with his excellent leadership caliber and strong work ethic. He was appointed chief financial officer of the company earlier this year. With over two decades of experience in finance and accounting, Lunt has put his global vision to work to solidify the company's business standing and streamlined its financial resources to support future goals and objectives.

"I'm delighted to join the board. Huma has a strong foundation, deep-rooted values and many opportunities to accelerate profitable growth. Huma is a results-driven company with a growing consumer base across the globe. I look forward to partnering with fellow board members to envision a bright future for Huma and contribute to its continued success," Lunt said.

"Ensuring we have a board who strongly believes in our company's values and mission has always been a top priority for Huma," Smith added. "I am certain that Fred's many connections and valuable hands-on farming experience, along with Steve's stellar financial expertise, will support the board in leading Huma to scale new heights."

Following these new additions, the Huma board is now composed of 13 members, including: Lyndon Smith, Mike Smith, Mark Killian, Mike Boyd, Steve Farnsworth, Dave Lamoreaux, Melanie Parkinson, Harold Payne, Dale Willis, Justin Smith, Jonathan Plehn, Fred Nichols and Steve Lunt.
