APVMA to phase out parathion-methyl

The APVMA announced on 16th August the cancellations of all parathion-methyl products because the only approved holder of the ai, Ospray Pty Ltd, has voluntarily canceled the registration of the insecticide.
As a result, the APVMA has either obtained voluntary cancellations, or cancelled the registration and associated label approvals of the following products: Farmoz Parathion-methyl 500 insecticide from Farmoz Pty; Campbell Penncap-M Flowable Microencapsulated Insecticide from Colin Campbell Chemicals; Parashoot CS Inseciticide and Parashoot EC Insecticide from Ospray.
Manufacturing, sales and use of the products will be stopped by 26th July 2013.
