The highlight of Sipcam Nichino at Hortitec 2023 was the presentation of the first results of the insecticide Ohkami (Tolfenpyrad).

Initially launched to control the tomato pinworm (Tuta absoluta), the Ohkami insecticide opened a new cycle in the field about the effectiveness of managing this pest, considered the most harmful in domestic tomato production.

Shortly after obtaining the registration extension, it also began to be used successfully in 11 more crops, acting effectively on the diamondback moth (Plutella xylostella).

Vitor Cabral Araújo.jpeg″The diamondback moth reproduces quickly. Uncontrolled, it transfers significant damage to brassica leaf crops: broccoli, cabbage, kale, cauliflower, among others,″ emphasized Vitor Cabral Araújo, from the market development area of Sipcam Nichino.

″This pest causes deterioration in the visual quality of vegetables and causes consumers to reject these foods at retail,″ he adds.

Ohkami acts immediately after application through contact and ingestion on tomato and crucifers moths.

″It is a solution that has the differential of a new mode of action: it controls eggs (ovicidal action), and caterpillars and prevents the laying of fertile eggs by moths (transovarian action). It also helps integrate management programs by breaking the cycle of target pests″, summarizes Cabral.

BIO-STIMULANTS

Another highlight of Sipcam Nichino at Hortitec 2023 was the presentations at the stand emphasizing the importance of bio-stimulus linked to the health of fruit and vegetable crops.

The company recently launched a Biostimulant Platform made up of Blackjak (Leonardita), Nutex Premium (Potassium Phosphite), and Stilo Verde (organomineral) solutions.

Abyss formulation is based on Seaweed Extract, Ferrous Sulfate, Manganese Sulfate, Potassium Octaborate, and Zinc Sulfate.

For the company, the correct and integrated use of these technologies reduces plant stress, especially in adverse weather conditions, and provides farmers with more productivity and profitability in different HF crops.
