The FMC launched the biofungicide Provilar during this year's edition of Hortitec – the most important exhibition of the horticultural (HF) sector in Latin America, with special coverage by AgroPages.
The biological fungicide is formulated with Bacillus velezensis strain RTI301, in association with Bacillus subtilis strain RTI477.
According to the FMC, Provilar promotes leaf spot and white mold protection with an environmentally sustainable solution.
″Its liquid formulation contains endospores of bacteria and immediate production metabolites, which allow a preventive and prolonged foliar management of the disease,″ the manufacturer said.
Also according to the FMC, the release promotes "increased control efficiency in association with chemicals".
This is because the Bacillus present in Provilar helps plants produce defense compounds, such as phytoalexins.
Plant defenses that are activated by non-pathogenic microorganisms such as bacteria lead plants to resistance to systemic and persistent diseases.
At the FMC stand at Hortitec 2023, the launch of the Premio Star insecticide (chlorantraniliprole) was also presented, with protection against 50 biological targets in more than 50 crops.
In the fair's events pavilion, FMC participated in the workshop held by Promip on the evolution of Integrated Pest Management Programs (MIP Experience), with a lecture by Promip Director, Marcelo Poletti.
″Hotitec is one of the biggest events in the horticultural sector and an excellent opportunity to present our solutions to farmers,″ FMC's crop manager, Luís Grandeza emphasized.
Therefore, he concluded, it is an ″honor to participate, bringing producers up to date on food traceability, sustainability, and productivity.″
