At the largest horticultural fair in Latin America, the Brazilian company, Satis, presented its product, Duo Funghi Plus, used for insect control.
The product is formulated with Beauveria bassiana, Isaria fumosorosea, and Metarhizium, which are compatible and offer synergistic performance.
According to Satis, Duo Funghi Plus is a biological additive that helps accelerate the biodegradation of organic waste.
Therefore, the product improves the structure and profile of the soil, promoting the release of nutrients for the plants and helping to exclude undesirable microorganisms, to balance the macro and microbiota of the soil.
As a result, Duo Funghi Plus promotes ″biological interactions between insects and plants,″ providing biological protection to crops and promoting the exclusion of undesirable insects.
According to agronomist Décio Shigihara, who is responsible for technical support in horticulture at the company, Satis was presented at the 28th Hortitec to highlight its ability to ″further improve the performance of cultures.″
In addition to Duo Funghi Plus, the company also launched Tatic, a copper-based mineral fertilizer with micronized particles, which was developed for managing pests and diseases.
The Satis stand features a space dedicated to teaching the public about the adverse effects of negative conditions to quality, such as changes in size, color and flavor, as well as to volume, such as a drop in productivity and reduced harvests, in addition to higher production costs.
In parallel with improvements to pest and disease management, Shigihara explained the use of products that offer better performance when applied under favorable conditions.
″Being careful with treating some types of fungi, bacteria or even some pests in certain crops, such as potatoes, tomatoes and peppers, is associated with the success or failure of the harvest, so the correct management and use of high-efficiency products are essential and of fundamental importance,″ he said.
Taking place this week in the city of Holambra in the Brazilian state of São Paulo, Hortitec 2023 features some 490 exhibiting companies from Brazil and abroad, with an estimated audience of 32,000 visitors.
The fair expects to move around BRL400 million during the exhibition and in the post-event period, or 35% above the value reached in 2022.
